Aaron William Floge, 39, of Forest, went home to be with his personal Lord and Savior on November 18th, 2019, at Lynchburg General Hospital, after being stricken ill at home.
He was born March 4,1980, in Cheverly, Maryland, to his loving parents Samuel D. and Jonell M. (Healey) Floge of Forest. Aaron is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Amy (Barnard) Floge. They were best friends, a team in loving their children, and enjoyed each other fully.
He has also left an empty hole in the hearts of his seven beloved children: Hana (16), Isaac (15), Abigail (12), Levi (10), Joseph (9), Esther (7), and Gideon (21 months). They will miss him greatly; however, he imparted a godly legacy for them. Aaron was a most devoted father and family man, involved in every aspect of his children’s lives. He spent dedicated time with each one, taking them to ball games, going out for ice cream, and including them in different projects around the house. One of his greatest joys was celebrating the accomplishments of his children. In addition, he will be sadly missed by his two brothers and their wives, Matthew and Sheri Floge, and David and Inger Floge, both of North Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He loved and “tolerated” many others.
Aaron was employed at Heritage Baptist Church as Facilities Director, with a staff he loved as close friends. Aaron was multi-talented and exceedingly hard working. He was always willing to lend a helping hand while keeping everybody laughing. He loved serving in the children’s ministry program at Heritage Baptist Church with his wife. He could tell a Bible story both kids and adults enjoyed.
A special thank you to all the wonderful families and staff at Heritage Baptist Church for all their expressions of love and generosity.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Heritage Baptist Church. A Celebration of Aaron’s life will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Heritage Baptist Church with Pastor Nathan Smith officiating.
