Ada Christine Faulconer, 90, of Madison Heights, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. She was the wife of the late Charles Burton Faulconer for 37 years.
Born Sunday, May 15, 1927 in Nelson County, Christine was a daughter of the late Estes Aldo Harris and the late Elizabeth Reese Harris.
In addition to her husband and parents Christine was preceded in death by her brother, John Albert Harris, sister, Frances Hutchinson, and twin sister, Annie Pauline Mayberry.
She is survived by her sisters Florence Carter of Schuyler, VA, Myrtle Dalton of Madison Heights, and Joyce Spencer of Arrington, VA., her sons, Charles “Buddy” Faulconer, of Lynchburg, Mark Faulconer and his wife, Susan, of Madison Heights, and Phillip Faulconer, of Madison Heights; 3 grandchildren, Matthew Dillion Faulconer and wife Catherine, Lindsay Allgood and husband Daniel, Mary Beth Schaeffer and husband Michael, 3 step-grandchildren, Charlie Cash and wife Ashley, Will Cash, Mikhail Guenther, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Christine was a member of Sandy Bottom Christian Church. Early in her career Christine worked in Payroll for Craddock Terry Corporation before spending time as a homemaker when the boys were young. Christine later worked as a Teller for Wells Fargo and its predecessors for 20 years. Christine was a devoted mother, involved in Scouting as a Cub Scout Den Mother and served as Homeroom Mother for multiple classrooms when the boys were in elementary school. Christine was a devoted woman of faith; participating in multiple church activities, Bible studies, and the Christian Women’s Club. Christine took great delight in spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights. A celebration of Christine’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fairmont Crossing and Centra Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they have given Christine over the past 2 ½ years.
