Adell Jackson Scott

July 22, 1922 — February 6, 2021

On February 06th, 2021 surrounded by her family, our beloved Adell passed away peacefully at the age of 98. Born in Campbell County, VA on July 22nd, 1922 to the late John and Eliza Jackson.

Adell accepted Christ at an early age and Flat Creek Baptist Church was her home house of worship. Adell found joy in her service upon various duties in God’s House, her most fond was making a joyful noise in the choir and serving on the Fellowship Committee. Adell also served as a Deaconess prior to health issues limiting her duties. On June 7, 1947 she wed her love and best friend, Robert better known as “PaPa.” Adell spent her years being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Also, she took joy in preparing full course meals and setting the table in true royalty style. Adell was an avid baker and made the best pound cakes you ever tasted, pleasant and sweet just like her soul. Adell wore many hats throughout her years here on Earth. She was a Mother, Nurse, Teacher, Accountant, Director, Vocalist, Chef, Counselor, Seamstress and Top-Secret Agent.  Adell had a PhD in life. She always had time to listen and pray with or for you and welcomed all into her home. One never left her home on an empty stomach, she always prepared something for you, in her words “to kill hungry.” Adell was one of a kind, the Matriarch of her family.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Lee Scott, Sr.; four brothers Richard Sr., John Jasper, Albert, and Charlie Jackson; one daughter Irene Callands.

Adell leaves behind her loving sons, Robert Lee Scott Jr. and Larry Darnell Scott (Sheila); six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren. One brother Daniel Jackson (Leverne); two sisters-in-laws Carrie Clark and Ethel Jackson; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
