Adrian Gagesteyn, 83, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, July 29, 2016. He was the husband of Peggy Caprise-Gagesteyn.
Born Sunday, December 04, 1932 in Union City, NJ, Adrian was the son of the late Adrianus Gagesteyn and the late Anna Secker Gagesteyn.
Adrian was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen White Gagesteyn.
In addition to his wife, Adrian is survived by two sisters, Anna Visich, of Amherst, and Adreana Waller, of Texas. Adreana Waller’s children, Jonathan Waller, Steve & Carol Waller, Adrian & Tammy Waller, Jeffrey & Julie Waller, Suzanne & Sergio Espinosa, & many grand nieces and nephews. Also, including Peggy’s family of Peter & Candace Caprise, Christina Rumbold, Mark Caprise, Bob & Angie Caprise, and 10 grandchildren. Close friends of the family Maureen and William Godsey.
Adrian proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the Senior Keeper at the New York Aquarium for over 30 years. After relocating to Lynchburg, Adrian enjoyed serving the community as a Tree Steward for the City of Lynchburg for 20 years.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Monday, August 01, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Adrian’s funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 02, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Deacon Charles Mugnolo officiating. Interment will follow in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
