Rejoice, rejoice, The Father called home from labor to reward Ms. Agnes Banks. Jesus made a special house-call and Agnes answered on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 2:15 p.m., the Holy Spirit accepted her soul in glory.
Agnes accepted Christ at an early age at White Oak Baptist Church in Dry Fork, Va. She moved to New Rochelle, N.Y. where she joined Shiloh Baptist Church; she was a faithful member. She graduated from New Rochelle High School and retired from Maidenform Company. In her retirement years, she worked for United Cerebral Palsy as an advocate for adults and children with disabilities.
She was born October 11, 1941 to the late John and Brady Fitzgerald Banks in Pittsylvania County, Va. She was preceded in death by 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by two sisters, Ms. Flossie Banks of Madison Heights, and Ms. Tina Waller of Upper Marlboro, Md.; two aunts, Rosa Mae Banks and Geraldine Fitzgerald; in-laws, Archie Walker and Yvonne Banks of Chester, N.Y.; and special friends, Ruth Wilson of Franklinton, N.C. and Helen Phelps of Semora, N.C.
She leaves to rejoice in her celebration a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery Lynchburg.
Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg is assisting the family.
