Agnes Carwile Trent, 77, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, November 26, 2017. She was the wife of the late Charles Randolph Trent.
Born on November 20, 1940, in Lynchburg, Agnes was the daughter of the late Hugh Elwood Carwile and the late Minnie Rowles Carwile. She attended William Campbell High School and was a 1959 graduate of E. C. Glass High School.
She was employed for many years at Lynchburg Foundry. She was later employed as a beloved staff member at Carl B. Hutcherson Early Learning Center and retired from Lynchburg City Schools. She was an accomplished pianist, and she was a long-time, active member of Beulah Baptist Church where she worked with many music and children’s programs.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Allen Trent and his wife, Vicky Croft Trent, of Lynchburg, and Kevin Brian Trent and his wife, Tricia Esenwein Trent, of Glen Allen, Va.; four grandchildren, Skylar Loren Trent, Cameron James “C. J.” Weeks, and Pfieffer Mackenzie Trent, all of Lynchburg, and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Meghan Trent of Glen Allen; a brother-in-law, Clayton Delaware Trent and his wife, Shelby Carson Trent; and sisters-in-law, Rosabelle Trent Tweedy and Nancy Glass Trent, both of Madison Heights, and Jean Trent Childress of Gladys. She is also survived by a cousin who was like her sister, Frances Rowles Lindsay of Forest.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Agnes’ life will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Beulah Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow the service at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
