Alan Burford Hudson

Alan Burford Hudson, 54, entered into his eternal rest on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his residence. Alan was born July 30, 1971, to the late Burford Hudson, Jr and the late Annie Mae Hudson. 

Alan was educated in the Lynchburg City Schools, he graduated from Heritage High School. He also attended Central Virginia Community College, Germana Community College and received an Opticianry Certification from the Virginia Department of Vocational Education. Alan was last employed at Westover Dairy; his progressive illness prevented his continued employment.

Alan enjoyed using his mechanical skills in the workplace and to assist others whenever his expertise was needed. He would volunteer to help family and friends. He was a jack of all trades.

Alan received Christ at an early age. He was baptized and attended St Mark Baptist Church in Amherst, VA. He was a former trustee at Greater Peaceful Zion Baptist Church and also assisted in various other ministries in the Central VA area.

Alan was invested in his community and was a volunteer in various agencies, which included Project Discovery, YES Program, Jubilee Family Development Center, Girls on the Run, Miriam House and Appomattox Community Youth Ministry.

He loved riding his motorcycle and participated in various motorcycle clubs and events. He enjoyed travelling to Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, SC. Alan loved watching the sunrise at the beach, it was his happy place, it provided peace and serenity. 

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Claudia Rose and Janet Hudson, and a brother, Jr Richard Douglas III. 

Alan was a very devoted hands-on father; his children were the joy of his life. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved children, Zion King Anderson, Annisa Emma Lana’e Jones and stepdaughter, Aaliya Robertson. The others mourning his death is his devoted heart Mother, “Moma T” Toni Wilder Pate (Raymond, Sr), devoted cousin/sister, Wanda Moorman, sisters, Tanya Clay, Tashia Jones and brother Raymond Pate, Jr. He had several god children, Ashleigh Banks, Zaire Shelton, and Traleon Ware. He loved and maintained lifelong friendships with his White Rock and Gilmore Circle Crew. Alan was loved by so many people, he was a good and loyal friend. 

Alan was a beloved son, father, brother and friend. He will be tremendously missed.
