Albert (Bert) Whitman Bowers, 82, of Moneta, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 27, 2018. Bert was the loving husband of Martha Yoder Bowers.
Born Monday, January 20, 1936 in Atlanta, GA, he was a son of the late Whitman Walter Bowers and Lorita Sharpe Bowers. Bert earned his Master’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Bert worked as an electrical engineer for many years. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and the Moneta Lions Club. Bert was a loving and godly man, and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Bert is survived by his sons, Christopher David Bowers (Nicki) and Mark Whitman Bowers (Sharon); a sister, Gaea Gertrude Milway.
A celebration of Bert’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Pastor David Lord officiating. A reception will follow after the service.
