Albert Dawn Maxey

Albert Dawn Maxey, 92 passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was known to many as “Hootie.” Formerly of Spout Springs, Lynchburg and recently while ill was in Delta, PA with daughter, Dawn.
Born in Appomattox County on July 22, 1931, Albert was a son of the late Thomas and Sarah Maxey. He was preceded in death by his siblings Berkley Cabiness, Bessie Forgie and Ruth Franklin.
Albert was the life partner of the late Phyllis O. Roberts. She was the love of his life. Albert was a loving Dad to Dawn (William) Schneider, Paula (Joe) Porch, and Mike Johnson. He was Paw Paw Albert to many including Mindy, Becky, Val, and Duane (deceased). Also, great grandfather to Zack and Natalie. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Albert had a unique and unforgettable personality. He loved to talk and would tell story after story. He will be missed by many.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 3 to 5 p.m. there will be a celebration of life at Peach Bottom Inn, 6085 Delta Road, Delta, PA.
