Alease Deaner Vest, 86, of Lynchburg, died Monday, January 24, 2011. She was the wife of the late James E. (Jake) Vest for 52 years
Born Thursday November 13, 1924, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late William T. (Bill) Deaner and Ruth Phelps Deaner.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia V. Wooldridge and friend Barry W. Deacon, of Lynchburg, one grandson Christopher B. Holofchak, of Lynchburg, two great grandsons, Cody and Nathan Holofchak, of Lynchburg, two brothers W.T. Deaner, Jr., Ocala, FL, and R. Edward Deaner, of Lynchburg, a sister, Janie Ann Deaner, of Lynchburg, and a sister-in-law, Louise V. Campbell, of Alexandra, VA.
Alease was retired from the Lynchburg Hosiery Mill and Central Virginia Training School. She was a member of Leawood Baptist Church. Alease loved to go on golfing trips with Jake even though she did not play golf. She loved to bowl and for years she was a member of several bowling leagues. Alease was a easy going person, who made friends easily. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:30 AM, in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Lenn Lloyd and Pastor Dwight Weaver officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Leawood Baptist Church, 345 Munford Street, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
