Alease White

March 26, 1928 — April 18, 2021

Alease “Peggy” Shelton White, 93, of Lynchburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 18, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Bennie Watt White. They were married for 50 years.

Born in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late George Edward Shelton and Lula Mae Towler Shelton. Peggy is also preceded in death by four brothers: George “G.E.”, Nelson, Joel, and Adrian Shelton; two sisters: Virginia Whorley, Dorothy Patterson; and brother-in-law, Raymond Hudson.

Peggy is survived by her four children: Bennie White and wife, Beth, Deborah Robertson and husband, James, Nancy Gallagher and husband, Patrick, Arthur White and wife, Linda; sister: Geraldine Hudson; grandchildren: Daryl Robertson and wife, Michele, Duane Robertson and wife, Lisa, Otto Christoph and wife, Renee, Serena Gallagher, Michael Gallagher and wife, Becky, Melissa Gallagher, Emily White, Dean Robertson and wife, Stephanie; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Shelton.

Peggy was very much a people person, she never met a stranger, she loved spending time with her family and when one would come to the house for a visit all she had to hear was Hot Rod, are you ready for a ride and she was in the car ready to go. Peggy was a very devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Beulah Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Josh Carter. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
