Alfred Walker Davis, Jr.

Alfred Walker Davis Jr., 68, of Rustburg, VA, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Al is survived by his loving companion of 22 years, Rebecca Campbell.

Born Wednesday, February 02, 1944 in Lynchburg, VA, Al was a son of the late Alfred Walker Davis, Sr. and Dorothy Louise Powell Davis.

In addition to Rebecca, Al is survived by his daughter, Victoria Davis Edenfield, of Lake Wales, FL, a brother, Glenn Davis, of Lynchburg, a step-daughter, Carie Burns and her husband, Bill, of Lynchburg, two step-sons; Chris Towler, and Jonathan Carter, of Lynchburg, and five grandchildren; Austin Harris and Logan Edenfield, of Lake Wales, FL, and Adrianna, Morgan and Evan Burns, all of Lynchburg, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Ann Blankenship.

When he was a teenager Al played bass in the band the Galaxies until he was called to serve our country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved riding his Harley\"™s and he even rode his bike to Woodstock. He is now playing with beloved dog Drache once again.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.
