Alice Josephine Ogle

Alice Josephine Lindsey Ogle ,71, of Monroe, VA died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born October 6, 1939 in Sevierville, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Haskell and Laura Lindsey.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, H.V. Ogle; daughters, JoAnn Mays of Monroe, Sharon Gunter of Amherst and Debbie Sprouse and husband, Jimmy of Madison Heights; son, Jason Ogle and wife, Ginny of Amherst; sisters, Geneva Ramsey and Betty Lowe, and brother, Bill Lindsey all of Sevierville, Tennessee. Five grandchildren, Shawn Mays, Chris Mays, Regina Gunter-Casey, Steve Gunter and Alan Boyette, and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her faithful dog and companion, Charley.

In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her sisters, Hilda Ramsey and Geneve Hickman; and brother, Lloyd Lindsey

Alice was a long time employee of Central Virginia Training Center. She was a kind hearted person who always was concerned about others. She was deeply loved by her family, friends and co-workers who will miss her dearly and treasure her memory forever.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel and other times at the residence of her daughter, JoAnn Mays, 586 Bruner Road, Madison Heights. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Briarwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes contributions to be made to the Amherst County Humane Society, P.O. Box 614, Amherst, VA 24521.
