Alice Overstreet Mckinney

Alice Pearl Overstreet McKinney, 88, of Bedford died on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Oakwood Manor. She was born in Bedford, VA on June 2, 1924, a daughter of the late Amos Overstreet and Gola Chesterfield Dooley Overstreet. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Madison McKinney, Sr., an infant son, Ronnie Jay McKinney, a grandson, Ronald Dean Wood and a son-in-law, Charles Bowyer.

 Alice is survived by her eleven children, Faye Bowyer, Cheryl Bush (Robert), Doris Wood (Willard), Linda Carr (Eugene), Wanda Goin (George H. Jr.), David McKinney (Mary), Dack McKinney (Judy), Donnie McKinney (Lisa), Jimmy McKinney (Barbara), Roy McKinney (Maria) and Willie McKinney, Jr. (Debbie); also 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; also three brothers and four sisters; also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Alice was a wonderful Christian mother and grandmother. Her children and family shall miss her love and guidance.

 A celebration of Alice\"™s life will be conducted at11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Floyd Gross and Ray T. Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Land Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 6 until 8p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Bedford.
