Allen Floyd Arthur

Allen Floyd Arthur, 86, of Goode, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at his residence. He was born September 3, 1926 in Bedford County, a son of the late Earl and Cora Arthur.

Allen was a member of Norwood Baptist Church and a retired plumber. He was an U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII. He also loved his family dearly, his animals, watching old westerns, and eating Reese Peanut Butter Cups.

Allen is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ann Arthur; stepsons, John Moesch of Midland, TX and Gregory Moesch of Julian, NC; three brothers, David Arthur and his wife Cathy of Midlothian, Barry Arthur of Richmond, and James Arthur and his wife, Patsy of Columbia; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bedford Humane Society, PO Box 1293, Bedford, VA 24523.  

A celebration of Allen\"™s life will be conducted at 1 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Tharp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Childers officiating. Military rites will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, April 26, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
