Allene Violet Carver Eisel started her amazing life on September 25, 1922 to Violet Ruth Larsen Carver and Norman Alan Carver in her grandmother’s Dover, NJ apartment.
She attended Bernardsville High School in Bernardsville, NJ where she was voted ‘Most Popular’. She married Frank John Eisel, Sr. (born on 8-2-1923 and passed on 2-15-2002) on June 2, 1946 at the St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church in Bernardsville, NJ. She lived her child raising years in Morris Township, NJ where she raised her three children: Nancy Louise Hennessey, Frank John Eisel, Jr. (Carmita), and Barbara ‘Missy’ Cunningham (Christopher ‘Bo’), then the couple retired to Abingdon, VA where she and Frank, Sr. spent many happy years on South Holston Lake together enjoying their float boat and the beauty of the lake. In 2012, she moved to Lynchburg, VA to live out her remaining time on Earth where she lived a full fun filled life on her own until age 98.
Always busy in her retirement, she enjoyed Abingdon’s Garden, Circle, and Lunch Bunch Clubs of which the last being her favorite which seemed to follow her wherever she lived. Always very social, she lived life to the fullest while always giving more to others than her own needs which was her secret to a long life. She taught her youngest daughter (Missy) to ice skate at age 45 then became her cheerleading coach in her early 50s. She was a fun seeker and fiercely independent all of her life and is fondly remembered for her stories of hopping on horses bareback in her teens and pond hopping with her friends. She taught Sean and Missy how to do car snow donuts on a snowy afternoon.
Mom passed on April 19th at 9:15 pm surrounded by Missy and Bo after saying good bye to each family member with special chats with Jeremy and Kristen. She passed according to her wishes and dreamt of Frank and swore he was there with her along with the angels delivering her wings confirming that Heaven was waiting for her. May she be surrounded by human and furry loved ones past and live her eternal life free of pain or suffering. May they all rejoice together.
Grandchildren include Sean Christian Hennessey (Jessica Dahlin Owens); Jeff Eisel; Thomas Eisel (Lindsay Shay); Kristen Pielat (Bellamy); Jeremy Blake Cunningham and many furry grandkids. Great grandchildren include: Atlas Hennessey, Jacob Eisel, Nathan Eisel, and Blake Eisel.
Allene ‘Skip’ leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, humor and good nature. We could not have hand picked a better Mother, grandparent, friend or role model. She always had an inspirational quiet strength that would guide us or give her a ‘feeling’ about something, perhaps what we called a ‘direct’ link to above. Her belief and strength in the Lord gave us hope and love during life’s difficult journeys.
Special thanks are to be given to all of her friends that became family especially Patricia Watters and Deloris Davis. The family is ever so thankful and grateful for your friendship and love to our Mom.
In honor of her memory and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to: The Lynchburg Humane Society @ http://lynchburghumane.org/.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1 pm at Forest Hill Memory Garden in Abingdon, VA.
