Amber Monique Lockhart passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 44, at her residence in Atlanta, Georgia. Amber was born on April 22, 1979, in Washington, DC as the third child of Morris and Brenda Jean Thomas Lockhart. She grew up in Woodbridge, VA in the Lake Ridge subdivision.
Amber was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Woodbridge, VA. Her freshman year of college she attended Christian Brothers University, Memphis, TN where she was on the University girls' basketball team. In her sophomore year, Amber transferred to Marshall University, Huntington, W.V. where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish. At Marshall University she became a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. With the desire to work in the medical field, Amber attended the University of Virginia College at Wise, Wise, VA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Amber worked in the nursing field for more than seventeen years.
Left to mourn her passing are her parents, Morris and Brenda Jean Thomas Lockhart, Forest, VA; her two brothers and their spouses: Wendell Tyrone (Angela) of Aldie, VA; and Cedric Jermaine (Breigh) of Haymarket, VA; three nieces: Nevaeh, Camille and Kiara; and three nephews: Cooper, Ramsey and Colton; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
The Memorial Service for Amber Monique Lockhart will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 4693 Everett Road, Forest, VA.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
