Amy Elizabeth Martin Wilson

Amy Elizabeth Martin Wilson died peacefully at home on November 7, 2020, in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was born August 25, 1936 in Amherst County, grew up in Madison Heights, and lived in Lynchburg and Bedford County most of her life, moving to Charlottesville in 2014. Amy was the only child of the late William Loving Martin and Virginia Ferguson Martin.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Cuthbert L. “Bert” Wilson; son, Stephen Lee “Steve” Wilson of Aurora, IL, and his wife Karen; daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Wilson of Charlottesville; grandson, Christopher Graeme Wilson of Oswego, IL, and his wife Anne; and great-grandsons Trent Adam Wilson and Logan Patton Wilson.

Amy was baptized in the Christian church, was a member of The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a former member of the Virginia Vineyards Association, and the Bedford Historical Society.



In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated, with arrangements handled by Tharp Funeral Home. Although there will be no formal visitation, those wishing to do so may call at the family residence in Charlottesville. A memorial marker has been placed in the Cochran Family Cemetery in Bedford County.

A celebration of Amy’s life will be held at a later date.
