Andrew Wood Elliott

Andrew Wood Elliott, 90, of Forest, VA, died Tuesday, January 05, 2021.  He was the husband of the late Marilyn Jean Reeve Elliott for thirty two years.

Born Saturday, June 14, 1930 in Campbell County, Andrew was a son of the late Cecil Elliott and Annie Wood Elliott.

Andrew is survived by his children, Gary Proffitt, and his wife, Renée, Richard Caughey and his wife, Deborah, Bob Caughey and his wife, Robin, Donna Scruggs and her husband, Jerry, Cheryl Thomas and her husband, Michael, Wilton Elliott and his wife, Lisa and many grandchildren, Chris Caughey, Kevin Caughey, Bobby Caughey, Jr., Troy Scruggs, Johnathan Scruggs, Lisa Hill, Ryan Proffitt, Ben Thomas, Tyler Elliott and Laron Elliott along with their spouses and children.

He is also survived by his loyal and caring Home Health Care Providers, including his current team of Joan, Sheila, Brenda, Carolyn, Donna, Lisa, Sylvia, Wanda and LaJoya. Much love and thanks to them, along with the many others who worked with him over the years.

Andrew was an employee of Babcock and Wilcox until he retired. Before that he was a U.S. Army Veteran and perhaps his favorite occupation, that of a farmer.

He was a member of Sandusky Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a member of the choir. He had much love for his family, friends and caregivers and he will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory.  A celebration of Andrew’s life will follow at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Ed Vogt officiating.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
