Angela Jennie O’Brien, 50, died peacefully at her home in Monroe, Virginia on March 13, 2017 following a 13-month battle with cancer.
Angie was born December 18, 1966 in Glendale, California. She is survived by her mother, Marcie Wheat of Sioux Falls, Iowa; her brother, Paul Smith of Glendale, California; her son Matthew Shayne Wheat of Monroe; and her husband Steven Charles O’Brien, Jr. of Monroe.
Angie loved her family, her church (Christ Community in Monroe), her friends, and animals of all kinds.
Since moving to Central Virginia in 2005, her work included cooking (Lodge of the Fisherman, Virginia School of the Arts, VCCA), dog grooming (Yvonne’s K-9 Style House, Petsmart), and caring for the elderly in their homes.
A celebration of Angie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Christ Community Church, 2209 S. Amherst Hwy, Amherst, VA 24521, with Pastor Glen Shelton officiating.
