Angel was fun-loving and had a generous spirit. Her youthful energy and passion for music, gardening, and animals (especially cats) was reflected in interactions with friends and family. She was artistic and creative and could be found working for months each year on a haunted trail for the community to enjoy. She had a love for her animals and assisted abandoned cats daily with work through Central Virginia Regional Rescue TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return). The family is asking for donations in Angel’s memory to: The CVRR TNR Program, P.O. Box 2172, Forest, VA 24551. Please notate TNR program in the memo of checks for the donations to go towards this preference. Venmo and PayPal: CVRRescue (specifically choose TNR). These donations will help the abandoned cats that she cared for and loved so much.

She leaves behind her beloved and loyal husband of 52 years, Stewart M. Mays. The two were inseparable. She is also survived by her children, Kimberly Douglas and Pamela Rogers; grandchildren, Austin and Carson Candler, Maxwell and Maslyn Rogers; siblings, Randolph H. Moore, Jr. and Wayne A. Moore; along with additional extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved sister (Stella M. Moore).

There will be a celebration of life in her memory at Old City Cemetery on October 21, 2023. The family extends an invitation to friends and relatives for sharing of memories and conversation between the hours of 12:30-2:30 that day. This will be a casual event with an open and revolving invitation at any point during those hours. The family will gather at the Old City Cemetery Chapel at 12:00 and will then meet friends for a reception and light refreshments at the Cemetery Center Meeting Room for the remainder of the time. Informal sharing of photos or stories are welcomed.
