Ann Phillips Holdren, 82, of Bedford, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Runk & Pratt in Forest. She was the wife of the late Francis H. “Shorty” Holdren.

Born December 5, 1932 in Bedford, she was a daughter of the late Lenwood Earl Phillips and Martha Ruth Cundiff Phillips. She is also preceded in death by her twin brother, Sonny Phillips; brother, Bobby Phillips; sister, Gail Nagy; two grandchildren, Daniel Harrison Holdren and Matthew Linn Wood.

Ann was a lifetime member of Bedford Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling and bowling.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Theresa Holdren Wood and husband, Larry; son, William Tucker Holdren and wife, Jackie; grandchildren, Chris Wood and wife, Cesia, Steven Wood and wife, Alysia, Adam Holdren, Ashley King and husband, Rusty, Andy Adldoost and wife, Amy; great- grandchildren, Jacob Wood, Anna Belle Barrett, John Matthew Wood, Annalee Campbell, and Ridlee King.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Bedford Christian Church with Rev. William H. Moore and Rev. Jimmy Compton officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Ann’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and nurses at Runk & Pratt for the wonderful care they provided to our mother.
