Annette Evans Pleszkoch, 64 from Lynchburg, Virginia, unexpectedly passed away with
her daughter by her side on the night of March 22, 2024, due to acute coronary insufficiency. Born on December 9, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Harold Clarke Evans and the late Annette Judd Evans. She attended Nelson County High School, and pursued her Bachelors of the Arts in French and German Literature at Lynchburg College, her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Virginia, and her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Liberty University. Annette touched many lives during her many years as a nurse in the Pulmonary Cardiac Unit at Centra Health, and later at Fairmont Nursing Home and Martha Jefferson as a triage nurse in the Emergency Department.
Anne was a member of Clifford Baptist Church and enjoyed singing with the church choir. She appreciated the arts and lent her voice to the Senior Life Choir at Thomas Road Baptist Church, participated in the Mama Bear Art Group, took classes from Pages Palette, and loved going to the Rejoice Women Tea Party’s gatherings after the local Red Hat Club disbanded. At gatherings, she would take on the avid role of paparazzi, commemorating the event and adding to her collection of photographs. She loved flowers and gardening, adored driving around town to see Christmas lights during the holiday season, and she could always point out someone she was related to wherever she went.
Annette is survived by her only daughter, Liz Pleszkoch Gunter, and son- in- law, Jacob Ray Gunter; her sister, Irene Evans Williford, brother-in-law, William Shugart Williford III, nephew, William (Billy) Shugart Williford IV, and his wife, Amanda Nabih Williford, and nephews, Harold Evans Williford and Clarke Cox Williford; her grandnephew, William (Liam) Shugart Williford V, and grandniece, Arya Belle Williford; as well as many extended family members and loving friends in the community.
Annette is predeceased by her mother, Annette Judd Evans, and her father, Harold Clarke Evans; her uncle, John Lewis Evans, on her mother’s side; and her uncle, Helton Massie Evans, and aunt, Mary White Evans, on her father’s side.
