Annie Bobbitt Turner, 83, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, January 24, 2014. Born Sunday July 27, 1930 in Hurt; the daughter of the late Hullette Bobbitt and Douglas Short Bobbitt.
Annie enjoyed displaying her various art projects in the local Kaleidoscope Arts and Crafts Festival. She was a docent at Point of Honor. Among others, she will be remembered for her hats that coordinated perfectly with her outfits.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gayle Kay Turner. She is survived by her children, Michael W. Turner of Winston-Salem, NC, Adam D. Turner and wife, Lisa of Lynchburg, Lisa G. McCune and husband, Kenny of Lynchburg, Brian K. Turner and wife Nanette of Appomattox; grandchildren, Christopher M. Turner, and wife, Pamela of Lynchburg, Jason T. Turner of Lynchburg; great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Turner of Lynchburg; and a brother, Bobby Bobbitt and wife, Betty of Concord.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11 AM, Monday, January 27, 2014 in Green Lawn Cemetery in Hurt with the Pastor Kathy Nicholls. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2 until 4 PM at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg.
