Annie Laura Arthur Keyes, 93, of Bedford County, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015. She was the wife of the late George William Keyes.
Born February 6, 1922, in Campbell County she was a daughter of the late Harry Cephus Arthur and Elizabeth Beatrice Campbell Arthur. She was a U.S. Army Veteran. Annie worked at Frank Chervan Chair Factory, and she later retired from Rubatex. After retirement she loved to do upholstery from her home. She was a member of Bellevue Garden Club and Bellevue Senior Citizens group. She was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Jane Gertrude Arthur, Minnie Flora Comer, Helen Eldevia Grishaw; brothers, Robert Samuel Arthur, and Harry Earle Arthur.
Annie is survived by her sister, May Hancock, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 in Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip T. Kelley officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the church 1:00-2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.
