Annie Trent Pritchett

Annie Holmes Trent Pritchett, 89, of Lynchburg, died Friday, August 12, 2011, in Lynchburg.

Born September 14, 1921 at Green Hill Plantation near Long Island in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Nannie Hale Trent and Cleaion Trent. Anne retired from the Occupational Therapy Department at CVTC and was a member of Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Annie is survived by two sons, Dekota Watts Pritchett, Jr., and wife, Marsha, Wayland H. Pritchett and wife, Peggy all of Rustburg; a daughter, Claudia and her husband Dr. David E. Sharp of Lynchburg; a sister, Louise Ashwell, of Amherst; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband Dakota Watts Pritchett, Sr.; two sisters, Doris T. Cox and Irene T. Conley; and two brothers, S. Henry Trent and Sidney E. Trent.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Richard Knodel and Rev. Peter Stazen, II officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 3300 Carroll Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

The family would like to thank the staff of Guggenheimer Rehab and Centra Hospice for the love and care given to Annie and her family.
