Anthony “Tony” Bruce Terry, 65, of Lynchburg went to be with his Lord Saturday, June 15, 2019. He was the husband of Sherrie Henson Terry for 20 years.
Tony was born October 3, 1953 in Savannah, Georgia a son of the late William Robert Terry and Mary Bruce Terry. Tony was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Staunton, retired from Master Tech, and then worked for Auto Zone as a Commercial Specialist. He was a retired 50 year mechanic. He was an outdoorsman, loved fishing, NASCAR and his Alabama football team “ROLL TIDE”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children: Tonya Terry, Bo Terry (Brooke), Tony Moon (Katrina), Jimmy Terry (Christina), Chris Terry (Krista), and Hailey Terry (Chloe), fifteen grandchildren, one sister Robin Terry Purvis, and one brother Mark Terry. Three special friends, Roger Hatcher, Al Collins, and Tony Viar.
Sherrie would like to give a special thank you to Wayne Sipe and Bryan Lamonds. The family would like to thank the staff at the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center, Centra Hospice, and Dr. Cirenza.
A memorial service for Tony will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Victory Baptist Church, 1176 Lee Jackson Hwy in Staunton with Rev. Rader Ogden officiating.
In lieu of flowers please consider making memorial contributions to the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center.
