Arlene Dunn Martin
Arlene Dunn Martin, 81, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, September 23, 2011. She was the wife of the late Russell Hilman Martin.
Arlene was born December 06, 1929, in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Troy Russell Dunn and Hallie Roach Dunn.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (Dick) D. Martin, of Melbourne, FL, and R. Wade Martin and wife, Mickey, of Forest; a daughter, Judith M. Falls, of Lynchburg; six grandchildren: Kris Paul, Kelli LaPrade, Laura Noland, Ty Martin, Chad Falls and Brad Falls; fourteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Hubert, Johnny and Dallas Dunn; and her sisters Hazel Totty, Louise Bell, Deilie Gunter, Frances Krantz, Catherine Dudley and Dollie Mae Dunn.
Arlene spent many years in retail in the Lynchburg area working at Shoppers Fair, Kmart and Walmart where she made many long lasting friends.
A celebration of Arlene's life will be conducted in the chapel at Tharp Funeral Home on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Keith Manuel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family will have a private interment at a later date in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
