Arlene Overstreet Logwood, 89, of Evington, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011. She was the loving wife of Samuel B. Logwood.
Arlene was born August 22, 1922 in Evington, a daughter of the late Daniel Stevens Overstreet and Janie Witt Overstreet. Arlene enjoyed going to church and was a Baptist by faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Carolyn B. Witt and husband, Kenneth of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Dale Witt of Forest, Barry Witt and wife Dianne of Forest, and Carlan Snipes and husband, Lenny of Bedford; four great grandchildren, Kristin, Katie, Sierra, and Dakota Witt; four sisters, Mary Powers of Lynchburg, Phyllis George of Hurt, Martha Phillips of Rustburg, and Gloria Hall of Evington; three brothers, Dean Overstreet of Evington, Michael Overstreet of Forest, and Daniel Overstreet, Jr. of Bedford; her special friend, Kathleen Noel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Freddie, Jack, and Kallie Overstreet, Mattie Ashlock, Liz Keatts, and Alice Sickles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Arlene's life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Evington United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Critchley and Pastor John Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Evington United Methodist Church Cemetery.
