Arlene Tyree Floyd, 79, of Concord died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at home with her family by her side.
Born September 3, 1934, in Lynchburg, Arlene was a daughter of the late James Lacy Tyree and the late Edna Shepherd Jennings.
In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Dale Floyd.
Arlene is survived by her two daughters: Deborah Floyd Adams and Tina Yvonne Cash, seven grandchildren: Christopher Dale Floyd, Jamie Diane Floyd, Bridget Adams Dalton (Cuyler), Crystal Fawn Adams, Jody Vaughn Ramsey, Amber Nicole Cash, and Emily Vale Cash; three great grandchildren: Harley Rayne Dalton, Cuyler Jade Dalton, and Kali Skye Floyd; five siblings: Barbara Collins, Jack Tyree (Jean), Peggy Knight, Helen Farrar, and Larry Tyree (Cathy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arlene took pleasure working in her yard and enjoying time spent with family; always open-hearted and available for loved ones.
A celebration of Arlene’s life will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 25, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, with the Rev. Dr. Melvin Campbell and Pastor William Westgate officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to her service.
