Arlis A. Sheffield, Ii

Arlis Adelbert Sheffield, II., 77, of Bedford County passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2021. He was the loving husband of Carolyn Sue Sheffield.

Born January 13, 1944 in Houston, Texas, he was a son of the late Ruby Slovocek Shefield and Homer Gordon Sheffield Sr. on January 13, 1944 in Houston Texas.

Arlis is survived by his daughter, J. Kathryn Sheffield, his brother, Homer G. Sheffield, Jr, and twin sister, Jo Ellen Sheffield.

Arlis was a Vietnam Veteran and traveled in Europe in his twenties and loved talking of his experiences there. He worked as a small farmer in Rhode Island, Maine and Virginia and grew vegetables, flowers, and herbs for restaurants and colleges.

The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
