Arthur Preston Camden

Arthur Preston Camden, 97, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was the son of the late Robert and Alice Camden. He was the husband of the late Juanita Rowlett Camden for more  than 50  years.

He was born on May 15, 1926 in Amherst County. He retired from Hercules where he worked as a lead foreman. Preston proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Memorial Christian Church. Preston enjoyed working outside in his lawn. He loved spending time on his patio while enjoying his daily cigar.

Preston is survived by his sons, Tracy Camden (Lois) and Brent Camden; and nephew, Rob Camden.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his siblings, Leonard, Katie, William “Bill”, Tinsley, Bernard, Minnie, Rachel, and Nellie.

A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home on Sunday, May 12, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
