Arthur Earl Sprouse Jr., 71, of Forest, VA, died Monday, February 29, 2016. He was the husband of Linda Meadows Sprouse, for 52 years.
Born October 01, 1944 in Lynchburg, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur Earl Sprouse, Sr., and the late Beulah White Sprouse.
In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by his children, Brian Sprouse and Melissa Frye, two grandchildren, Brittany Brown (Adam), and Jay Frye (fiancé, Alena Silva), a great grandson, Harrison Brown, and two sisters, Dolores Roakes(Don) and Glenda Blackwell.
Arthur was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Sprouse and a brother in-law, Howard Blackwell.
Arthur was a loving husband, father and grandfather, family meant everything to him. He was an avid golfer, who had a great sense of humor and he was always happy. A very generous man, he enjoyed serving the public in over 30 years in grocery management and corporate banking. He never met a stranger.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 03, 2016 at Timberlake United Methodist Church. A celebration of Arthur’s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 04, 2016 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Lynne Alley-Grant officiating. Inurnment will follow in Timberlake United Methodist Church Columbarium. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Timberlake United Methodist Church, 21649 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA, 24502; or Children’s Miracle Network, 1900 Tate Spring’s Road, Lynchburg, VA, 24501.
Arthur requested that all his golfing buddies wear golf shirts to his memorial service.
