Ashley Taylor Jones, a resident of Lynchburg, VA passed unexpectedly on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the age of 34.
Ashley is survived by her husband Quincy Jones; his parents, Carolyn and Clyde Jones; Ashley’s parents, Ray and Denise Scroggins; grandparents, Ray and Elaine Scroggins; her siblings, Christopher Scroggins and Abbie Holbert (husband Mickie Holbert, daughter, Channing Holbert); and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that loved her and will miss her greatly.
Ashley was born on August 20, 1986 in Houston, Texas. She lived most of her life in Waynesboro, VA and graduated from Longwood University in 2006 with a degree in Computer Information Management Systems. She blessed many lives during her time working at AT&T and was a successful small business owner.
On August 2, 2014 she married the love of her life, Quincy Jones. While they had no children, she was the godmother to Timothy Nicholson Jr. and an amazingly loving aunt to Channing Holbert.
Ashley was a blessing and bright light to everyone that she knew. She was tenacious, passionate, and described as a fighter from the moment she entered the world. Ashley was known for her compassion and generosity towards others. Whether she was helping a customer or interacting with the ones she loved, she always conducted herself with grace and put others first. Her generosity continues even after she has passed. Ashley donated her organs saving the lives of three people and helping dozens of others. When Ashley was not helping others, she enjoyed visiting with family, playing Call of Duty, hunting, and crafting.
A funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Virginia. Services will be for immediate family and close friends. For those unable to attend the in-person service, there will be a virtual service offered. The service will be officiated by Reverend Jones.
Flowers and condolences may be sent to Tharp Funeral Home 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502. The family wishes for you to show your support by becoming an organ donor.
