Aubrey Odell Neas, Jr., passed away of natural causes while doing what he loved, Riding his bike on the Blue Ridge Parkway. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was born on January 6, 1951, in Bedford Va. A son of the late Aubrey Odell Neas, Sr. and Lettie Mae Wood Neas. In addition to his parents Aubrey was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Neas.
Aubrey was a wealth of knowledge and loved to share it with others. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, traveling, watching western movies and especially going for bike rides. He received his Master of Science from Northern Arizona University. Aubrey had numerous jobs in various fields during his career. Lynchburg City as a Ranger and Naturalis, Lynchburg College as a Botanist at Claytor Nature Center in Bedford, Park Ranger at Mount Rainier, Professor at CVCC, Abbott Labs and a Park Ranger with the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Richard Neas (Christy), Doris Whitley, Travis “Butch” Neas (Cindy), Eva Neas Brown (Steve) and Garland Neas; Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
