Aubrey Odell Neas
Aubrey Odell Neas, Sr. 81, of Bedford, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maria Ann Tolly Neas for 23 years. He was known to his friends as Odell.
Born September 1932 in Coleman Falls, VA; a son of the late Murray Hammond Neas and Ethel May Hudson Neas. He served with the National Guard Reserve; he retired from Great Northern Nekossa Corp. after 39 years and was a member of Cove United Methodist Church.
Odell is also preceded in death by a brother, William Shelton Neas, and brother-in-law, Aubrey Rush.
Odell is survived by Letty Neas, the mother of his children; sons, Aubrey, Jr., Richard and wife, Christy, Travis and wife, Cecilia, Garland, Jeff; daughters, Doris Whitney, Eva Neas-Brown and husband, Steve; brother, Wayne and wife, Martha; sister, Marilyn Rush; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 4 nephews; and 2 nieces.
The family will receive friends at Cove United Methodist Church in Coleman Falls, Friday, January 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral will be private.
