Audrey Louise DeKorte

Audrey Lousie Gibb DeKorte, 99, of Bedford passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born in Passaic, NJ on January 5, 1926. A daughter of the late David Gibb and Frieda Wehrkamp Gibb. In addition to her parents Audrey was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Elbert Cornelius DeKorte and two brothers, Arthur Gibb and Private Herbert D. Gibb.

Audrey loved needlework, especially sewing. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling. She attended Main Street United Methodist Church. Her family and friends will miss her greatly in the days ahead.

She is survived by her two daughters, Alice Hann and Deanna Tsapatakis; son, Gary DeKorte; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A funeral service and celebration of Audrey’s life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Dr. Wayne Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family thirty minutes prior to the service starting at 10:30 am.
