Audrey Garsik Ovsenik

Audrey May Garsik Ovsenik, 83, of Moneta died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at South Roanoke Nursing Home, Roanoke, VA. She was born Tuesday September 6, 1927 in New York City, a daughter of the late Andrew Garsik and May Alice Johnsen Garsik. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Adam Ovsenik.

Audrey was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Moneta, VA.

She is survived by two sons: Joseph J. Ovsenik of Staunton, VA, Edward C. Ovsenik and his wife Nancy, of Ocean Isle, NC; two daughters: Margaret Hinners and her husband, Allen, of Moneta, Mary Alice Hodges and her husband, Douglas Dale, of Moneta; seven grandchildren: Allen J. Hinners, Megan Hinners, Christian Ovsenik, Michael Ovsenik and his wife, Marie, Amanda Ovsenik, Jordan Ovsenik, and Audra Ovsenik; five step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011, 2:00 PM at Resurrection Catholic Church, Moneta, VA, with Father Salvador A̱onuevo officiating.
