Augusta Angela Raap

Augusta Angela “Gussie” Raap, 103, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was born August 23, 1914, to Cyril and Emerance Ryckeghem in St. Charles, IL. In 1941 she married Julius Lievrouw. He died in 1959. In 1970 she married John Raap. He died in 1989.
Mrs. Raap is survived by her daughter, Donna (Nathan) McClure; three granddaughters, Teal (Anthony) Iovinetti, Alicia (Michael) Schneider, and Megan (Jason) Lam. She was a loving Great Grandmother known as GiGi to her 5 great grandchildren and a beloved Aunt to Carol (David) Hunecke, Vernon (Carol) Danielsen, Karl (Carole) Ryckeghem, and Mary Ellen (John) Stocker and their children.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was predeceased by her sister Mary Danielsen, her husband Einar, her brother, Carl Ryckeghem, and his wife Lois.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 Roundelay, Lynchburg, on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at noon. The family will receive friends prior to mass at 11am at the church.
Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Andrews Catholic School, Cape Coral, FL or Holy Cross Regional School, Lynchburg, VA.
