Austin David Mattox
Austin David Mattox, 13, of Amherst died Friday January 21, 2011 at his home.
Austin was born December 7, 1997 in Charlottesville a son of Billie Jo Bibb of Amherst and Scott Mattox of Piney River. Austin bravely battled his disease all his life and especially enjoyed listening to Blue Grass music.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother Hayden Mattox of Amherst, his maternal grandmother Billie Bibb of Monroe, his maternal grandfather Buddy Bibb of Myrtle Beach, SC, and his paternal grandparents Carlton and Carolyn Mattox of Piney River.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday January 23, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights 118 Commonwealth Dr.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights with the Rev. John Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Amherst Cemetery.
