Averille Bersch Temples

Averille Bersch Temples, 98, of Lynchburg, died on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. She was the wife of the late Hansford Clark Temples for 60 years.

Born in Lynchburg, September 19, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Hewling Bersch and Annie Walden Bersch.

Averille was a homemaker and an \"Avon Lady\" for 25 years. She was an active member of Beulah Baptist Church for 70 years, where she served in a variety of roles. She was a charter member of the Ivanhoe Garden Club. She loved people unconditionally, and was faithful in her Christian witness.

 She is survived by her daughter: Jane T. Kiger (Louis), of Lynchburg; her daughter-in-law: Judie M. Temples of Charlotte, NC; five granddaughters: Nancy K. Campbell (Vince) of Madison Heights; Barbara K. Campbell (John) of Fayetteville, NC; Shirley K. Lee (Ron) of Forest; Kristi T. Chan (David) of Overland Park, KS; Lori T. Armistead (Paul) of Durham, NC; ten great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son: James Hansford Temples; a sister: Carrie B. Williamson; and two brothers: Ernest Bersch and Baxter Bersch.

 The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2012, in Beulah Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Dr. Dennis Hollandsworth, Dr. John Campbell, and Reverend David Chan officiating. Private interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
