Barbara Hastings Webb

Barbara Hastings Webb of Lynchburg died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Augustus Webb Jr., a brother, Douglas Morgan Hastings, and a half-brother, Robert Wittington Hastings.

 

Barbara was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 18, 1929, the daughter of Emanuel and Anna Margaret Hastings. She graduated from Ashley Hall and Rice Business College in Charleston. She is survived by two children, Barbara Webb Hirtes (Robert James Hirtes) of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and Ralph Augustus Webb III (Sharon Baker Webb) of Fairfax Station, Virginia; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey Charles Hirtes, Alexander George Hirtes, and Anna Sarah Hirtes.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 15, at Tharp Funeral Home (Lynchburg) from 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 16, at Centenary United Methodist Church (Lynchburg) at 11 AM. A reception will be held at the church at 2 PM.
