Barbara June Giacalone Cox, 73, of Forest, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2016. She was the wife of the late William Henry Cox, Jr. for 56 years.
Born June 4, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Barbara was a daughter of the late Leo Giacalone and the late June LeMay Giacalone.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, William T. Cox and Nancy Barca, of Long Island, N.Y., Robert Cox and James Sanderson, of Washington, D.C., and Todd Cox and Shelly Lane, of Lynchburg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Anthony Giacalone of Dix Hills, NY, Arthur Giacalone of Ronkonkoma, NY, and Leonard Giacalone of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Linda G. Cucci of Boca Raton, FL; and best friend and sister-in-law, Leilani Cox Craypa.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann Cox.
The family will receive friends at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am., with the Rev. Monsignor Michael D. McCarron officiating.
