Barbara Ann McCray Rucker, 80, of Amherst, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015. She was the wife of the late Hayward Scott Rucker, Sr.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, George McCray and Agnes McCray; brothers, Donnell McCray, Allen McCray, Harvey McCray, Ruben McCray; sisters, Alma Branch, Clara Perry, Adlean Lacy.
She is survived by her son, Hayward S. Rucker, Jr. ( Vellida); daughters, Connie Rucker Vest (James), Colleen Rucker Sutton (Anthony), Carolyn Rucker Jones (Raymond), Diane Rucker, Etta Rucker Moseley (Wesley); brother, George McCray (Nannie); sisters, Gracie Dillard (Edward), Priscilla Haynes (Howard), Shirley McCray, Lelia Dempsey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Kindgom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, Amherst, Va.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Fairmont Crossing and Centra Hospice for the loving care they gave Barbara.
