Barbara Clark Nubie, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on March 16, 1948, in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Christine and Curtis Nowlin.
Barbara's journey through life included notable achievements and a legacy of love and dedication. She graduated from Campbell High School and embarked on a remarkable career at BWXT, where she dedicated 36 years of hard work before retiring.
Barbara touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine care endeared her to friends, family, and colleagues alike. Barbara's impact extended beyond the workplace; she was an integral part of Cross Road Baptist Church, where her faith played a central role in her life.
Barbara served her church community with unwavering dedication. As a faithful member of Cross Road Baptist Church, she actively participated in various roles, including serving on the usher board, being a valued choir member, contributing to the food committee, and fulfilling the role of sexton. Her commitment to Serving The Lord Gospel Singers spanned an impressive 26 years, and her melodious voice and passion for singing brought joy to many.
Barbara Clark Nubie leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Jesse Nubie Sr; two loving sons: Jesse Nubie Jr (Jennifer) of Austin, Texas, and Christopher Nubie (Tonya) of Lynchburg, Virginia. She will be remembered fondly by her granddaughter: Juliet Nubie of Austin, Texas. Brother, Garland Clark (Shirley), and loving sister, Vannasa Rosser (Charles White), both of Lynchburg, Virginia. Devoted cousin Mary Fleshman, step-grandchildren Tre'Zhon Reid, and Talib Reid of Lynchburg, Virginia, and cousins Jaeden Smith, and Jordan Smith of Lynchburg Virginia. Barbara's memory will be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and love throughout the years.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church. Interment to follow service.
