Barbara Watson Padgett

Barbara Aneta Watson Padgett, 88, of Bedford, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Elks National Home. Born March 13, 1922 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Lillie Belle Crouch Watson and Herbie Brown Watson. Barbara was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of New London Academy and a retiree of Leggett\"™s in Bedford with over 20 years of service. 

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Grafton Padgett. She is survived by two children, Charlotte P. Duis and her husband, Fred of Bedford and Oscar E. Padgett of Bedford; four grandchildren, Mac Duis and his wife, Sandy, Sarah Thomasson and her husband, Greg, Grafton Padgett and Catheryn Padgett; four great-grandchildren, Ella Thomasson, Will Duis, Eli Thomasson and Ruby Duis; two sisters-in-law, Vivian B. Watson of Lynchburg and Elma Padgett of Fredericksburg.

 A celebration of Barbara\"™s life will be conducted at 2 PM, Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Les Trail and Rev. Dr. Carl H. Douglass, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, July 30, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
