Barry Lynn Arrington, 63 of Bedford passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Tucson, AR on June 16, 1961. A son of the late Harry Samuel Arrington and Nancy Edmiston Arrington. Barry was a graduate of Liberty High School class of 1979. An avid outdoorsman and a mentor to so many. His love for the outdoors was so evident. Barry was a past member and president of the James River N.W.T.F, President of the Bedford Outdoors Sportsman’s Association “B.O.S.A”, leader of the Gene Parker Memorial “Gunnin for Gobblers”, Avid supporter of the Hunters for the Hungry, Local scholarships for young men and women and local charities involving the outdoors and sporting community. After Barry’s accident in 1994, he became such an impact on all outdoorsmen with his testimony and being a spokesman for Hunters Safety. Hunting, fishing and time spent in the outdoors was Barry passion and he touched so many lives near and far.

Barry is survived by his siblings, Andrew R. Arrington, H. Steven Arrington and his wife, Donna, Bernice Davidson and Brenda Parker; his dear friend who was like a brother, Jeff Witt. Barry had many dear friends and caregivers throughout time but most recently a very special young lady, Laura Stanley. Barry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and so many friends. His legacy in the outdoors will be long lived through central Virginia and many other areas.

A funeral service and celebration of Barry’s life will be conducted at 1:30pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Bedford Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford. To send condolences online please visit tharpfuneralhome.com.
