Benjamin Wesley Phillips, 83, of Lynchburg, departed this life and went to his heavenly home on Friday, February 5, 2021.
Ben was born May 2, 1937 in Henry County, the son of the late Benjamin Reed Phillips and Ruth Lillian Ramsey Phillips. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church.
Ben proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later retired after 38 years in the trucking industry. He worked for McLean Trucking Company and Preston Trucking. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his family, attending local car shows and family reunions.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Nancy Harris Phillips, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Benjamin Scott Phillips and his wife, Lisa Coles Phillips, Kendall Lee Phillips and his wife Sheri Floyd Phillips both of Forest, four grandchildren, Tyler Scott Phillips and his wife, Cara, Brooke Nicole Phillips, Jordan Phillips Dickerson and her husband, Douglas, and Connor Lee Phillips; one great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Noel Wood; and one sister, Barbara Creasy. Ben is also survived by many special friends and family.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
