Berkley David Clements, a lifelong resident of Lynchburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Lynchburg General Hospital at the age of 94. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marguerite Harris Clements; their two sons, Ronald David Clements (Mary) of Seminole, Fla. and Rodney Harris Clements (Betsy) of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Bryce Clements, Brad Clements, and Whitney Clements Hawkins (Jesse); and one great-grandson, Payne Hawkins. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Clements.
Berkley was born June 22, 1921, in Mecklenburg County, a son of the late Dossie Clements and the late Murrer Griles Clements. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with the Signal Corps, was a manager with General Electric from which he retired, and was a member of Euclid Christian Church.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday July 25, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
