Berkley S. Jack Elliott

Berkley S. Jack Elliott, 64, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Bolivia, NC. Born February 27, 1949, he was the son of the late Ira Berkley Elliott and the late Eva Frances Steube Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Wyatt Skinnell, his best friend, who was like a brother to him.

Jack is survived by his high school sweetheart and cherished wife of 44 years, Carolyn Blane Elliott, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; a son, Matt Elliott, of Lynchburg; a daughter, Anne Blane Wootten, and her husband, Bradley, of Richmond; two granddaughters, Caroline Wootten, of Richmond, and Maren Elliott, of Lynchburg; a grandson, Parker Wootten, of Richmond; treasured mother-in-law, Nancy M. Blane, of Richmond; devoted sister-in-law, Charlene Samford, and her husband, Wayne, of Richmond; devoted nephew, Jason Sheriff and his wife, Meghan, and their children, Charlie, Matthew and Holden, all of Richmond; loving niece, Kelda Sheriff, of Richmond; and his many dedicated friends, cousins, clients and golfing buddies.

He was a 1971 graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in marketing. Following graduation he began a lifelong career as a stockbroker, a profession he loved, with J. C. Bradford and later, Stifel Nicolaus.Jack was passionate about his grandchildren, golf, the beach, VA Tech, cars, music and his pets. He lived life to the fullest and had a positive, fun-loving spirit. In his lifetime he never met a stranger.

A celebration of Jack\"™s life will take place at Peakland United Methodist Church, Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Vest and the Rev. Edwin Clever officiating. Inurnment in the church columbarium will follow the memorial service. Afterwards the family will receive friends at a reception in the fellowship hall.
